Depends where you go and on what. My buddy is a pilot so I can fly private for almost nothing.

Assuming he makes you pay for fuel, it is most certainly not almost nothing.
It's like 30 miles to the gallon. But straight lines. So same as driving. Uses gasoline.

I'm not sure, because I've never really pursued it. I know that there are services around to match private jets with open seats to people looking to travel.

Private jets are super expensive. Private planes are okay.
A friend of mine works at one of those services.
