@DustinB3403 said in What Are You Watching Now: @EddieJennings no spoliers, still on season 1, watching with the girlfriend I just completed a month long binge rewatch in anticipation of season 7 The North remembers...

Watching adult swim at my parents house. I don't miss commercials.

@DustinB3403 said in What Are You Watching Now: I'm watching Game of Thrones I have zero interested in watching that show. I also have no interest in reading the books. So there is that.
-
@JaredBusch probably the best show ever...
-
Really looking forward to this weeks Silicon Valley..

@bigbear said in What Are You Watching Now: @JaredBusch probably the best show ever... Nope. Not ever. I am quite familiar with the author and the premise of the books. I read a decent sample of book one years and years ago and said nope. I am an avid reader of the sci/fi and fantasy genres, with a library of ~1000 physical books, but I do not like that series.

But have accidentally been to several of their filming locations.

I gave it a good shake, made it about half way and couldn't bring myself to finish it.

I think that the show is only popular because of the nudity.

@scottalanmiller said in What Are You Watching Now: I think that the show is only popular because of the nudity. Nah, I know a number of people that have been fans of the series for years before it became a TV show. It is not a horrible series, but it is not my style either.
-
Never touched the books though some in my office are always way ahead of the series because they are fans. I don't think it's the nudity. Another good show is History channel Vikings, more realistic.

I don't agree in a general sense but it may be a good opportunity to find some great material

Supernatural, A Series of Unfortunate Events, which is the best adaptation of a book series to a show I've ever seen. NPH is PERFECT as Count Olaf!!! And a couple others too.

@DustinB3403 said in What Are You Watching Now: I'm watching Game of Thrones I'm reading the books first. On the second one so far. Haven't read as much in the last week or two.

I don't agree in a general sense but it may be a good opportunity to find some great material I honestly have trouble figuring out why the show is as popular as it is. Fun to watch as a reader of the books but context is seriously light on the ground in the show. I had a coworker who was super into the show at like 2-3 seasons in and didn't know the names of 1/2 the characters. Which I totally understand. They are in such a rush to hit the major points they barely let you get to know anyone.

@dafyre I read most of them through Audible years ago. Roy Dotrice does an excellent job reading them.

I've made it up to season 4 of Supernatural, to episode 15. I'm going to have to get the next couple seasons ready on my Plex box soon. It will be a sad day when I get to the end of the full seasons, though I do have Iron Fist on deck, and I'll need to catch up on Agents of Shield (I'm always a season behind). I canceled my DirecTV subscription. Just not using it....
