People are actively resigning from positions due to the amount of insanity that is taking place.

Think about that too, what about under served markets? Where are there no programs to bolster small ISP's to build out in rural areas?

I have a really hard time with this personally. I see some value in this, but I haven't reached a point yet where I feel it's the government's place to mandate that companies provide services to rural areas.

I think we're there and have been for almost a decade. It's no different then telephone service.

I'm not for that or power either.

Ah see that's where we differ. I would deem communication and power to be essential services.

Then they should be state run. And in that case, then yes, I would be onboard with that. Remove it from the private sector, and you'll get my blessing, more or less.

Electric services are more or less state run in most of the US. In all but name. But I agree with you, utilities should be provided and run by the state.

So many issues would be resovled (including Net Neutrality) if these utilities were all state run.

California defies the FCC and approves Net Neutrality Law

The Montana and New York executive orders focus exclusively on the purchasing requirements for state agencies instead of imposing requirements directly on ISPs. The California bill is a more direct challenge to the FCC's preemption order because it requires all ISPs to follow net neutrality rules regardless of whether they provide Internet service to state agencies.

Very funny to see CA on the leading edge of something worthwhile.

That's actually something CA is famous for.

We just made it illegal to sell animals from animal mills.

Do you mean puppy mills? So how do you get the pet you want, rather than whatever you happen to snatch from a shelter?

I don't know much about it. But there are plenty of ways to get pets besides the horrible puppy mills.

I can agree that most puppy mills are horrible. I can also say I know a few people who breed dogs, and don't treat their pets like trash, only to produce more trash.

I understand, just curious what the plan is for the future. (purebreeds = inbred) so I would never get a purebred animal of any kind.

I can also say I know a few people who breed dogs,

That's not a puppy mill, so much better.

I"m sure the details are out there. If they can't get them from puppy mills, so I think they must get them from better means.

They have more than a few pairs of dogs, hence I'd call it "when working" a puppy mill. But the dogs live with the family etc.

I know a guy who has what i guess you guys would call a bird mill. He has around 50 pairs of birds that have babies that he sells.

I've been to the place, it's really clean, nice setup.

I'm guessing this law is for the slovenly, those who have their breeding pairs in horrible living conditions, and solely look at the animals as means to income.

But then again, look at chicken farms these days.. birds in small cages they can barely turn around in.. ug. 😞
