I'm disgusted with the EU's decision to fine Google. The EU can do one, and it looks like our government (British) is going back on the Brexit vote by not giving us the leave that we wanted. A complete mess our country is in controlled by corrupt governments.....

              I agree with the fine.

You're not wrong, but if there is a license fee, then there can be competing solutions. It is hard to compete with free when you don't have the resources of Alphabet behind you. Google is not good for consumers in the long run.

This is old news, but still relevant today: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/askds/2011/09/02/accelerating-your-it-career/. Despite all the changes in technology the fundamentals of being a good IT pro have not changed.

And probably never will. Even the technical pieces haven't really changed in decades.

Spiceworks appears to be down, at least their hosted helpdesk.

Not so much the helpdesk, I don't think. We use it heavily and tend to notice.

Publicly flogged twice for each record leaked. Fined, $100,000 for each record leaked ($99,000 of which goes to the person whose records were leaked), and the entire C-Level team fired if this was discovered and not reported for more than 36 hours.

Interesting possibility for SMB network monitoring: https://www.ipswitch.com/about/news-and-events/ipswitch-news/first-ever-free-edition-of-whatsup-gold-released-by-ipswitch. 5 nodes isn't a ton, but if all you need is your edge and your core then this is good.
