      https://blog.js.wiki/news/2021/wiki-js-3-going-full-postgresql

While getting an instance set up to try out Wiki.js 2.5, I've been reading this post about Wiki.js 3.0 and
      postgresql.

We are migrating off of them. It's a good platform but they can't get any version to stable before starting over and they never finish the basics.

          Dell to spin out VMWare
          https://techcrunch.com/2021/04/14/dell-is-spinning-out-vmware-in-a-deal-expected-to-generate-over-9b-for-the-company/

Dell announced this afternoon that it’s spinning out VMware, a move that has been suspected for some time. Dell acquired VMware as part of the massive $58 billion EMC acquisition (announced as $67 billion) in 2015.

Interesting. I had forgotten that Dell owned VMware in the first place...

VMware kind of feels forgotten altogether at this point, lol. I used to hear about them daily. Now it's like a surprise when they get mentioned.

I deal with VMware daily, it may be a forgotten system in your circle, but it is definitely not a "forgotten product"

Yeah, it's still in the majority of businesses that I've dealt with. Wherever there has not been any good IT for any length of time it crops up.

Huawei denies spying accusation in the Netherlands

A report accusing Huawei of having once had "unlimited access" to phone calls made using one of the Netherlands' leading operators, KPN, has been published by a Dutch newspaper.
The report was compiled by the CapGemini consultancy in 2010 but never released. Those affected would have included former Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende. The Chinese technology giant has completely denied the allegations. One cyber-security expert told BBC News it was "doubtful we will ever know" whether the claims made in the report were true. "Huawei may be blameless but insider threat is a powerful one," Prof Alan Woodward, from Surrey University, said. News of the report was published in De Volkskrant.

MI5 warns of spies using LinkedIn to trick staff into spilling secrets

At least 10,000 UK nationals have been approached by fake profiles linked to hostile states, on the professional social network LinkedIn, over the past five years, according to MI5.
It warned users who had accepted such connection requests might have then been lured into sharing secrets. "Malicious profiles" are being used on "an industrial scale", the security agency's chief, Ken McCallum, said. A campaign has been launched to educate government workers about the threat. The effort - Think Before You Link - warns foreign spies are targeting those with access to sensitive information.

Damn right, I wouldn't expect anything less, especially after repeat attempts, and a lack of remourse.

I'd ban them from more than that.

Comcast touts 4Gbps cable uploads in lab test, still limits users to 35Mbps

Lab test produces 4Gbps upload speeds but actual uploads are still 3 to 35Mbps.
Comcast today offered the latest hint of a future in which its cable customers won't be limited to 35Mbps upload speeds. Announcing a recent lab test, Comcast said its research team "deliver[ed] upstream and downstream throughputs of greater than 4Gbps" and that "future optimization" will allow "even greater capacity." This was "the first-ever live lab test" of a Broadcom "system-on-chip (SOC) device that will pave the way for Comcast to deliver multigigabit upload and download speeds over its hybrid-fiber coaxial (HFC) network," Comcast said. It won't require installation of more cables because the "technology works using the same types of connections already installed in hundreds of millions of homes worldwide," Comcast said.
