Very interested in this. I’ve been waiting until it was on my area, which it is now. The price tag isn’t that bad at all. And multiple accounts and included DVR capability is cool. Doesn’t look like it’s available for the Firestick yet which is my main streaming tool.

I have fire TV Gen 1 and 2 Roku Gen 2s for my main streaming but also have 2 ps3s and a ps4.

I would really like a la carte pricing. I don't speak Spanish, so why would I want at least 2 Spanish only channels? This is one of the biggest problems with traditional TV providers; a whole bunch of crap channels I don't want, in a bundle with some I do want.

I take this to mean that, while traveling, you would have to VPN into your home network in order to watch live TV, with any certainty.

No limits when traveling so far. I think its to determine which local channels (ones you would otherwise get with a roof antenna) it makes available to you for streaming.
I am huge fan of Roku and I dont see it on the roadmap yet. I love the way the Roku Stick will grab a cookie from your laptop and work on a hotel TV over hotel Wifi.

Oddly, with Apple TV you can access the most content. Google Play purchases via Youtube app under your Purchased playlist, iTunes purchases, all streaming services, etc.
Firestick seems like its the last to get everything, but its also the one I have had the most trouble with. I gave mine to my dad and he noticed on his ERX it was consuming crazy amounts of bandwidth for things like background images in standby. Have you had trouble with this?

If you compare to something like DirecTV Now you are getting the $50 package for only $35. So far what they bundle (like spanish) doesnt appear to result in any upcharge at least.
Interface on Android TV and performance is best by far though.
I checked and I guess its XBOX versions that are getting the app first. I do hope it comes to Roku though.
I only have a Android TV because my wife and kids got me an 85" Bravia for my birthday, something I would never spend money on myself. Roku stick and off brand TV's are good for me.

Ok, I'm turning on logging for my ER-POE at home to see if it's still that bad now.

I'm never going to allow regular network programming.
I'm sticking to services that allow you to choose which shows or movies you want to watech at will and commercial free.
We need nothing more than Netflix, Amazon, and Kodi. Those are less than half the cost of that YouTube TV thing.

That's exactly what I do too. It's not that I'm not willing to pay for that stuff, I actively don't want it.

The problems I have going without network TV:
1.) We have people over a lot, they want to watch sports (family, friends, parties).
2.) Shows we watch on FX, AMC, NBC etc (Walking Dead, The Voice, Modern Family, Mr Robot (theres at least 20)
3.) Random things like New Years and Thanksgiving Day parade werent available anywhere
4.) Local news and other local channels (the require an Antenna with Roku)
You can get some of it on Google Play, Amazon, Itunes, and some of it on Hulu. But it ends up much cheaper and with more features on Youtube TV.
