I would have liked to go a few years ago, but I have been bummed about their, what I would call, fall from grace in the recent past.
Ignore the SW part of it. It is still a tech conference one of the largest not directly sponsored by a tech vendor.
The point of any conference is the agenda and the vendor interactions and the peer interactions.

Chicago was my trip for the year, so SW is out of the question for me. Boss and another coworker might be going though.

That's the way to do it. The year I went, I shared an AirBnB with 7 other people. The interactions within that little group were the best thing about going.
