Comparing MeshCentral 2 to ScreenConnect

Am up late anyway, so updated to 0.4.4-s

Anyone else have issues that any change to a host and it often loses contact with the MeshCentral server? We have to reinstall the agent on some machines often because of this.
Did a V2V of a Windows 2016 host this weekend, and the MC agent went offline from that. It's still running as a service, it just doesn't connect. So we reinstall and, of course, it works instantly after that. But it seems to have some issues with resiliency for changes that should not affect it at all.

Seems like it needs a second agent to make sure that it works, lol.

Does MeshCentral automatically update now? I snafu'd my system and built it when it was 0.44a... It now is showing 0.44-s.
I'm not complaining, lol. Just something I noticed.

If you set it to, it will. It's done that for a long time now.

I have not had this issue but I only have 45 machines and they are all Windows 10.Edit - Forgot the two windows 2016 servers with no issues.

If you set it to, it will. It's done that for a long time now.
lol. Guess I better go dig into my config file, lol.

That might only be like 3 days worth of updates, sometimes they do a crazy number of releases in a short time...

Yeah. It's not the number of updates that surprised me. It's the fact that it updated on its own. I just checked my config file and the SelfUpdate is on, so nothing broken, system working as designed.

FYI. Just published MeshCentral v0.4.5-b, this is a super-update because it includes the next generation MeshAgent. You can check Twitter for updates, but this version includes a new remote desktop privacy bar, wallpaper toggling, improved Windows terminal and more.

@Ylian Another trick in MeshCentral v0.4.5-b is that the MeshAgent should be able to be installed within a Docker container. We will start testing that a bit more. Should be useful to manage what is going on inside server containers remotely.
