I have recently moved to DigitalOcean and trying to test it out. I have a Mediawiki website on the localhost that i want to move the server. But for that I need to install Mediawiki on the server first. When I am trying to install it by using the tutorial here: https://www.cloudways.com/blog/install-mediawiki/ and this: https://www.rosehosting.com/blog/how-to-install-mediawiki-on-debian-wheezy/

However, after installation is done i try to access the page but getting 500 error. Does anyone know what could be the issue?

Without having done this installation myself I would ask why are you following a guide for a platform you aren't using. Instead following a guide specifically for DigitalOcean may be the better option.

Your configuration is incorrect. It could be your conf file, permissions, LocalSettings.php file, etc...

              Or try the official documentation?
              https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Running_MediaWiki_on_Debian_or_Ubuntu

Edit: I couldn't tell if this was a spam post for rosehosting or not so I didn't post initially.

@devstar Did you use one of Digital Ocean's pre-built images or a custom ISO to install the OS? I forget if Digital Ocean allows you to upload your own ISO's or not. I thought Vultr was the only one but I could be mistaken. As an example, Vultr's default CentOS image had selinux turned off. When I turned it on it wouldn't boot. Could be something similar.
