New exploit is out. BadUSB goes after, you guessed it, USB.

I wonder how long before we more normal companies will have to start removing access to USB?

Not completely uncommon for companies to block USB today already.

Yeah I rolled it out last year as part of our AV. Frankly I'm surprised I haven't had more backlash.

I don't know too many people outside of IT that use USB very regularly. Outside of things like the keyboard and mouse and maybe a video camera. For storage it is popular at home but I don't think it is all that popular in businesses.

I have honestly not plugged in a USB device for storage at work for, I bet, nine years now at least. I can't remember doing it before that but I probably did.

Flash drives are becoming history with free cloud storage being so prevalent.

Very true. It is unlikely that I will ever say "hey, you know what is the right tool for this... a USB drive" unless it is for imaging a system or some other IT task that is not for normal storage.

Scott, what are you using for HIPAA compliant online storage?
