I prefer full fat AC, don't you be giving me half wave rectified or any of that DC nonsense.
For what purpose? I have zero use for full AC in the house or at any of my clients.
Obviously, it is sexy speeds, but if I am not going to be saturating it who cares? Why buy more?

FYI, UBNT AC-Lite maxes at something like 85 Mb, where the AC protocol is something like 130, or is it 300?
Just how bad can you screw that up? Please don't talk out your ass. 85Mb?

hmmm... I wonder why I can't get better than 85 Mb on my wireless, but I can do 120 on wired, same ISP, Same firewall.

@Dashrender 120MB/s is ~=1Gigabit network speed
85MB/s out of wifi is pretty damned good.

Do you have several devices on the wireless. Contention does a TON of speed reduction.

During my speed testing, I make sure they are all idle, not using internet bandwidth.

Wireless to the wired internet
Slightly surprising that you are only seeing 85Mb/s over the AP but those other devices might be doing something. 300Mb/s is the total speed, not the speed per device. So split between six devices is only 50Mb/s between them plus collision overhead which, as you get to any traffic level, becomes enormous.

You also have to consider packet drop. It's 300Mb/s if every packet makes it. Not if there are retransmits.

Well, the 300 is wrong, as JB pointed out, it's 1.3 GB for AC at the top end, and 850 for the UBNT AC-LITE
But, as I mentioned, the other devices were ideal.
ISP = 100 / 20
Wireless best I can get is 85 Mb
Wired, same laptop, wireless disabled, I get 105 Mb
No other changes to the other wireless devices. -
