@chrisl I can't even imagine working from that. I would go insane.

After some careful consideration, I realized I can do like 95% of my work on my iPad through the various social, cloud, and productivity apps.

This is my current setup that I'm testing out. Anker Bluetooth keyboard, my iPad Mini, and a cardboard box so that my neck doesn't get tired from looking down.

I'll probably upgrade to a refurbished 9.7" Pro at some point, but so far, so good.

I like the idea, but the screen is just way too small. The biggest thing for me is the lack of mouse.

That is why you have fingers. Plus, he said it was an iPad mini. I'm sure a regular iPad would work just the same.

@scottalanmiller yeah the screen is a tad small, that's why the upgrade to the 9.7" will be better.

@nerdydad yeah the apps being self-contained kinda limit the necessity of a mouse. I thought that'd be a limiting factor, but it hasn't been an issue thus far.

Keyboard shortcuts really help, I can switch apps via Cmd + tab, and most apps display any available shortcuts if you hold down Cmd within the app.

@wrx7m i still have my fully functional W10 laptop at home, it just doesn't come into the office anymore with me. No files in storage, everything via cloud.

Just need to figure out how to set up Outlook to access my work email and we'd be all set. I don't believe the iOS Outlook app allows for POP, but there has to be a workaround.

I think my dual 27" are too small!

That's not TOO bad, until you want to edit a lot of text.

You have POP email at work? If so, doesn't the native non-Outlook app do that well?

@scottalanmiller True. I was able to write an article for our blog entirely on the iPad yesterday, containing multiple links, etc. Wasn't too bad to deal with.

Spreadsheets are a different story, however.

Mileage may vary based on type of work, obviously, but it's been a smooth transition for me so far.

@scottalanmiller Trying to keep work separate from personal as much as possible and don't want that tied to my account. About to reconfigure work email as IMAP to make it easier to use the Outlook app.

I do it all the time. From the Marketing side it's where I spend most of my time anyway.

I find that just correcting spelling is impossible on the iOS devices.

It doesn't tie to the account, it still keeps the separate in the app.

That's where a Chromebook wins big time. Fixes the mouse issues, lighter than an iPad, no clunky keyboard to deal with, longer battery life, etc.
