As far as I know, he was denied to land here. Rumors are he's on the way to London.

Maybe David Cameron is our generation's Neville Chamberlain? 😛

Russian state TV, NTV, surprisingly balanced in reporting so far.

Just checking German stations... I think the coup will be over when they are finished with the ads.

At least 5 people have been injured by gunfire while they tried to cross that bridge.

It definitely seems like reports from a little while ago that things calming down turn out to be probably very wrong and that this may be the start of a minor civil war, depending on how much support Erdagon can muster, and/or if he can split up the military.

It seems to be the Military vs Police somehow - very confusing!

Well the police are sort of Erdagon's own personal "army" because it's commanded by people loyal to him and his autocratic policies, that's probably why.

It's just wild guessing right now. Problem is, Erdogan placed lots of people into key positions at the police.T he german reporter just said that he heard that the whole military is supporting the coup - if so, the police wouldn't have any chance.

Certainly true, if all branches of the armed forces are behind it, it's over, as far as general force goes, though the people can be unpredictable.

Brother says things are calm, going to take a nap, pretty late, been up a long time. Anything crazy happens I'll be sure to update, assuming I'm not completely unconscious.

Tanks and fighter jets at least. This is not just one or two rogue commanders I guess.

Looks like the coup failed. Some sad numbers: ~90 dead, ~1100 people injured, ~750 soldiers arrested.

Something I noticed about the American news was they kept saying "democratically elected", sometimes multiple times in the same sentence, over and over, ad nauseum. This, along with their absolute lies that Turkey is instrumental in fighting ISIS, was particularly disgusting. The few world leaders who kept saying "democratic order needs to be restored," I agree, so we have to get rid of Erdogan to do that.

What's even more insane is afterwards on CNN Turk, he straight up said that he will use this as an opportunity to cleanse the military. It's like some sort of goofy 1940s-esque dictatorship.

How the US manages to constantly, unquestionably kiss their ass every single day is beyond me. It's not just lying to the world that Turkey is democratic, it's not just having the AKP party leader on TV pretending as though she's neutral so she can blame Kurds for all Turkey's problems, it's not just because US soldiers wearing YPG insignia caused them to have a tantrum and then the US suddenly does a 180 on their own policy to publicly kiss Erdogan's ass, and it's not because they have government sanctioned denial of the Armenian genocide which the US backs them up in denying, ... the truly disgusting part is that they spend more time and effort to bomb Kurds outside their border who are fighting ISIS and being supported by the US, than actually fighting ISIS and the US says nothing. It just completely blows my mind.

So it appears the Turkish military has lost this attempted overthrow.

                                          Anyone else have more info?

At least 260 dead, 2745 district attorneys and judges removed and/or arrested, 2839 soldiers arrested, tens of thousands people of Turkish origin here in Germany protested against the coup and PRO Erdogan.

Deniz Yücel, a "Die Welt" correspondent (large German newspaper) wrote in an article: "For Erdogan, this coup has been a gift from Allah." and "No other coup in Turkey ever was so incompetent [planned and conducted]"
