      Figured that it would be good to have a place for "news" but not "IT News" which is what the News Group is dedicated for. A single thread is plenty, don't want thread sprawl with non-IT news items. Sometimes it is nice to see some news, though, somewhere. So here it goes!

        Heath officials said they are confident the botulism outbreak in Lancaster is linked to the potluck and are collecting samples from the church's trash cans to determine what may have caused it.

          Mary Doyle Keefe died Tuesday in Connecticut after a brief illness, her daughter said. Keefe posed for the painting at age 19 while working as a telephone operator, the Associated Press reported.

              Nepal Earthquake: Hundreds Dead After 7.9-Magnitude Quake Hits Near Kathmandu, Officials Say
              The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake hit Lamjung, Nepal, Saturday. Witnesses say several buildings collapsed in the aftermath. Nepal’s home ministry says at least 356 are dead.

                Sergio Gómez has spent six years excavating the tunnel in Teotihuacan, a ruined city in central Mexico. The mercury could indicate that the tunnel leads to a royal tomb, Gómez said.

                      A typography expert said using Times New Roman is "like putting on sweatpants" for an interview, Bloomberg reports. The experts told the news outlet that Helvetica is one of the best fonts to use.

                            That's a Virginia based company.. They have dirt cheap price for a reason I guess. I've never seen (or smelled) the product. They claim it's safe though.

                              Yeah, but they said that the problem components were because they were sourcing from China. We've used them and didn't notice, but you wouldn't necessarily.

                                  Keith Stephens, the commission's assistant chief of communications, said it was likely someone released the piranha into the lake. The fish was caught last Friday.

                                        Sunshine Skyway Bridge: Man Falls 30 Feet From Florida Bridge While Attempting to Change Tire

                                        The man, who suffered minor injuries, was driving on the Manatee County side of the bridge Sunday night when his tire had a blowout, WFLA reported. He was able to swim to a piling and was rescued.
