I wonder how the static IP's work....

If I migrated two boxes wonder if I would get 2 statics or 1 or 0

Guess this is their way to appease some folks and avoid a mass exodus and chargebacks / paypal disputes.

Not sure that will help too much. It's not a major change considering how under powered and over subscribed they are.

I think as many options as they can offer the better.
I enjoy that they are making improvements, not simply here's our datacenter, here's your options, have a nice day.

Everyone has growing pains, it is what it is, as long as people dont use it for production they should be ok

It's too annoying even for testing, when I can do it myself and have better up time and not issues where my servers randomly disappear (and there's no real way to restore any backups you might have from C@C). They aren't a new enough of a company to classify this as growing pains. It's just bad management at this point.

Ya for sure the hickups are uber annoying.

I've made the comment before and I'll make it again, I bought mine (hoping) they will be around in a few years and by then the kinks will be worked out.

IMO its a small investment for something that could be cool later.

Well, it allows you to migrate the resources... but you'll lose everything on the existing server.

Ya I just noticed that myself.

Thats a huge killer for me (on one of my servers)

I actually just sent them a ticket asking how the static IP addresses work, and asking if there's really no way to do it without losing data....

Cant really see why I would need to lose my data....

Someone also said that It's not really a choice to move to CloudPro or not, if you want to re-image from now on you have to migrate to CloudPro. No options not to. I can't confirm as I can't get to the panel.

                              Wtf is that about....

Some else said you can't power off or power cycle the current ones either. Of course I can't confirm that either.

                                  Can definately still power cycle.

My re-image has been replaced with "Upgrade Hardware" which takes you to checkout on the next size up server. And then additionally I have migrate server

Probably to cut down on oversubscribing. They are likely hoping with CloudPro that people will have a pool of resource but not use it all or leave extra in case they want to use it later. Meaning the OS won't have it available to use and free up some of there resources.

Ya very clever way to look at it eh, ya for sure all those resources sitting there unused eh.

I definately think its cool, and would like to switch to PRO (assuming I dont have to kill my current server)

But it seems like this "Temp offer" will be a "until everyone switches" offer

                                        Yeah.

Panel is backup for me but still can't get to my instances. Power off and cycle buttons are still there but they don't actually power off any of the systems. It just acts like it does but from the console you can see they don't reboot or power off.

So basically it is the collapse of the current service. They are cleverly try to hide taking away the lifetime product that you just bought by making it look like an "upgrade". Trying to do a PR stunt to cover up the outage a little.

Wow. Absolute fail. That's the nail in the coffin. You can't use it even use it for a lab if you can't power cycle it.
