Taking a look at Hawken
Big BattleTech fan, but I need something faster than MWO right now. Warframe keeps crashing constantly on my machine...

That was quick.
Yeah, expected something ... better? Felt a bit odd, just two weapons, that item stuff, self-repair and what not..
Check out Overwatch! Costs some money but a really fun game if you like team based shooters.
On the list, but I'm not a big Blizzard fan (anymore). Not they are not creating great games, but all the microtransactions... I would happily spend money for a great game, but I hate ingame shops. Even more if they sell anything beyond cosmetic upgrades.
I'm currently looking for a team-based shooter where teamplay is actually important.
Then you'll love Overwatch. Team play is a requirement, which can make PUGs frustrating, and the in-game store only sells cosmetic items that you can get through play. It reminds of TF2 when there weren't as many hats.
I might take a look. Thanks. Anything else coming to mind?

Hehe, the name really is ...
Anyway, it feels a bit like old-school Counterstrike in some of the game modes like "Plant / defuse the bomb". There's also a PvE mode which can be quite hard. F2P, but from what I can tell, it's really not P2W.

Well, I decided to somewhat answer my own question. I bought MoO. It is not much more than a reboot of MoO2, for better or worse. There are some things that have changed, and some that were left out, but fundamentally it is pretty much the same.
Except that Alan Tudyk voices Psilons.
Rating: Firefly/10 would research the crap out of everything.
