Which is better in your own perspective? The tasks I want to accomplish is inventory computer name along with program installed. If possible I want to know which user logged on to which computer as well.

If there are other features each program can do please enlighten me.
      Thanks!

        Spiceworks is a performance hog.

I've had it sitting on a client site for 2 weeks, it failed to do it right.

        http://community.spiceworks.com/topic/874606-inventory-what-is-it-and-what-do-you-use-it-for?page=1#entry-4479346

PDQ inventory I have never used, but what we did go for was Lansweeper.

Incredibly fast, really good features, they even write the scripts to do custom reports as part of their support for you.

PDQ Inventory is amazing...absolutely amazing. I introduced it here at work and we all love it. It's so nice to be able to uninstall stuff silently during the middle of the day.

I also love the reporting. My boss came over to my desk and asked for a PDQ report while I was writing this lol

            Identical to my experience.

We also have users all over the world and it won't find them no matter how hard it tries.

I had SW working ok, but it now refuses to inventory the new machines added recently, no matter how I set it up. I have the free version of PDQ, which is nice and fast (missing some features compared to the paid one), and I'm about to install Lansweeper to test it out.

My preliminary Lansweeper tests are very promising. I like the product, it has tons of info that is easily accessible.

I feel PDQ is solid. SW.. never try them so can't say about them. Lansweeper is very... informative.

@Nic do you have any idea why Lansweeper is showing "no antivirus" on literally all of my servers? It reads the AV client correctly on workstations and laptops, but not on any of my servers (all of which have webroot, all current version).

Not sure on that one - do you want me to have support contact you to follow up?

@Nic sure, or I could open a ticket. It's not a huge deal, but I'll need a good explanation or workaround if I want the boss to buy me this program. Thanks for your help.

Yeah go ahead and open a ticket. They'll at least be able to tell you how Webroot identifies itself on the machine so that you can ask Lansweeper about it. The other thing we could do is a call with us, you and Lansweeper as sometimes that's easier than the back and forth finger pointing with issues like this one.

@Nic I'll open a ticket, I don't have a desk phone. And nobody is pointing fingers... yet 😉

Webroot has a cloaking feature in the client. Might that have something to do with it?

@Breffni-Potter the desktop endpoints are detected correctly, so I'm not sure.

@Nic the buck has been passed... "contact lansweeper, we can't help you".

@RojoLoco Yeah I figured that might be the response. Give Lansweeper a try, and if they point it back to us, then I'll jump in and see what I can do to coordinate.
