Updating to NodeBB 1.0.0

We are making the move tonight. After two full years running NodeBB alpha and beta releases, tonight we are moving up to the first production release of the platform. Very excited. Hopefully downtime will be limited to a few seconds. If you see a 503 error, that means that the platform is actively firing up but hasn't started processing requests, yet.

Nope, they've been testing them out. Do you feel that we should? There are clearly upside and downsides. It's a neat idea, but problematic too.

Based on your repeated opposition to private groups and other forms of communication taking the conversations out of topics, I was surprised.
I do agree that most things need to be open and chat should be immediate stuff or small groups of friends.

That's where I'm the most concerned, that they are too much like private groups. They are, at least, ad hoc private groups and not official, organized ones.

There is supposed to be a setting to set max chat group size. Pick a number and set it. That will prevent any large chats from being setup.

Unrelated to 1.0.0, but what plugin allows the paste of an image form clip board? I f[moderated]ing love that one and abuse it daily on here in combination with Greenshot.
Just hit Greenshot and pate and it does this:

We haven't had any plugins change here. The image plugins that we are using currently are:
- Imgbed
- Imgur (but not active)
- vimeo
- youtube lite

No, that would be a problem with the upgrade. An upgrade should not affect something like that. If it does then there is a bad flow in the upgrade process.
