Job Description: IT Help Desk Specialist

Duties and Responsibilities:

Field all incoming help requests from end users via a variety of intakes (phone, email, etc.).
Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems and applications.
Proactively monitor and maintain computer systems and networks.
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops and mobile devices.
Document issues and maintain the internal knowledge base and other IT documentation.
Evaluate documented resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent future problems.
Create new user accounts and profiles.
Build and maintain Windows desktop images.
Follow best practices and SOP, as determined by management.
Assist in other projects and duties, as assigned.
Flexibility to occasionally work outside normal business hours.

Soft Skills Required:

Enthusiastic self-starter with patience and a keen eye for detail.
Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing.
Efficient and logical troubleshooter.
Able to follow written and verbal instructions and perform tasks with minimal supervision.
Desire to learn new technologies and procedures.
Possess the ability to prioritize and manage multiple issues at one time.
Able to lift 50 pounds.
Aspire to do things correctly the first time.

Desired Educational Qualifications and Experience:

High School Diploma
Formal education in computer science or information systems or a related field and/or 2-3 years of experience working in a corporate IT environment.
CompTIA A+ and/or Network+
MCP
