Good to hear. This line of equipment is just really really hard to beat for the price and feature set. It still has a way to go to be really user friendly, but it is a solid piece of gear in my opinion.

I picked it up for a small 15-person company that has minimal requirements other than PCI (they process card payments online). While they're tiny, there was a gap between the home-edition devices and business-class devices in regard to filtering outbound traffic. Ubiquiti seems to fill that niche.

For home use, check out the Sophos UTM Home Edition. It's a full=featured UTM for home.

It appears to be a rolling upgrade. My home tenant hasn't received it yet.

We actually have a policy that IT does not help people with shortcuts. If you really need a short cut it's between you and your manager, otherwise we deploy needed internet favorites via GPO, and the rest of the applications are in the start menu(start screen).

That must make file server moves a breeze!

SharePoint can do that, though with the types of files you'd be working with, the database would be [Content Removed by Moderator] huge.

If they can pin the shortcuts to their taskbar instead of desktop, it won't be an issue anymore.

Does Office Home Premium include email now? I used it about a year ago, and it didn't.

Oh. Is it only the Office products?

It's a subscription to Office Home Premium desktop applications and extra OneDrive space.

Agreed, did anyone find out if it now includes email?

      It doesn't include mail.

    • RE: Secure syncing tool

Oh, it's a NAS? If it's a Synology, you can use Cloud Station to sync files in a Dropbox-esque manner with the NAS.

@alexntg I have no control on the decision on AD rollout but can suggest this to them. Thanks!

I can't speak for all companies, but in most acquisitions, if the acquired company actively tries to integrate into the parent company's structure, it's viewed as a very good thing.

@scottalanmiller We could use DFS, but they have a global AD migration plan going on, and so we will at some point get all migrated to their AD. ]

Move up the timeframe for the AD implementation, then use DFS.

The license is perpetual, but you'd lose support and updates. I strongly suggest renewing Veeam.

      @Mike-Ralston said:

So I've been toying with the idea of 2-Way SLI with GTX 780 TI's for quite a while now, but have been looking around alot, and it seems that doing a 3-Way SLI wih GTX 780's may drive marginally better performace for only $100 more. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions on what should be used in this situation? 120 FPS on ultra at 2560 x 1440 is a must, so tell me what I should buy 😛

      Nevermind solved that problem

I logged into my O365 in Word - now I see my SharePoint site, and my business OneDrive... and there is the personal one drive, but it wants me to log into that (seems odd).

Is there a way to get OneDrive for Business into Windows Explorer like there is for OneDrive for home users?

Once you've opened a document from SharePoint, it should remember it.
