@rojoloco Looks Like a nice UI, plenty of features and do all VST's work? I'm a FL studio fan myself. I feel the same about pro tools too.

    • RE: Microsoft has become “Cloudserv” ~Tim Sneath

Pretty much could tell that windows was no longer on their main agenda when they said there will be no more releases and will be windows as a service for win10, I can see it eventually being wrapped up it into a monthly paid product like office 365. I think if it does happen, people in masses will switch over to Linux based distributions. Microsoft probably wouldn't be that bothered either, think they found they make more money with their cloud services...

    • RE: Office 365 Email Gone After Forced Logoff

@tim_g I agree most people don't need on-prem exchange no more, but I do think that once Microsoft have looked at the numbers and most people have moved to 365 they will up the prices, they won't keep the cost per user as low as it is for long, bet you they will hike that right up sooner or later.

    • RE: Office 365 Email Gone After Forced Logoff

I wouldn't like to see the end of 365, but I would always like to see good competition to Microsoft, a leopard never changes its spots in my eyes and Microsoft have history with all the previous court cases in some of their dodgy practices and monopolisation..they slagged off Linux to high heaven in the older days and now their embracing it? Might be something to do with Microsoft using it as part of their azure backend.

You can't doubt they make some excellent products but they have always ripped people off and most of their licencing models are complete shit...I think in a few years people will be moaning to high hell once all their subscription models have been increased through the roof and Microsoft know you won't go over to Google now as their Google apps/g suite has been left in the dust.

Microsoft are far from a perfect company and it does iritate me when people di*k ride and never see any fault with them and a lot and most are Linux haters I find as well...

Setting up a hyper v server outside of a domain is just as much fun, completely redicolous really. ESXI and XS are a lot quicker to get up and going with.

@carnival-boy said in GDPR Requiring Centralized Password Management:

I don't understand what user/password management has to do with GDPR. My understanding of GDPR is that relates to restrictions on personal data held by companies, and rules on reporting data breaches to authorities in a timely manner. Neither of these seem to relate to AD or similar services? AD doesn't even generally hold personal data.

First and Last name of a person is personal data. But so is an email address, birthday, sex, sexual orientation etc.

Don't store sexual orientation in AD. Have processes to remove accounts for ex-employees in a timely manner. Job done.

storing sexual orientation in AD would be a bit weird lol...

An interesting topic, we could go on from this by recommending how to run the individual services correctly outside of the UTM device. IDS/IPS, DPI. Etc. That would be a good topic as well.
