I find it so frustrating when an application is "vital" to a company's business, but they don't want to pay to update it so that it works on a current OS. Maybe not the case here, but a pretty common issue, especially in SMB.

I think that Francesca might like this game. We need to play it while she's up in NY so that I can describe it to her and see if she's interested.

I followed @RoguePacket 's links and we were able to reset the laptop and restore her settings and files using Time Machine. Thanks guys!

@ajstringham I used to feel like I was a wimp or something for always wanting to play on easy, and then @scottalanmiller explained why he does in a way that made so much sense. We aren't in it for slash and hack just for the sake of it, we play for the story, and you get the same story on easy.

I feel like MangoCon would attract some pretty confused people, wondering where the sessions on mango growing and harvesting are.

@scottalanmiller Yes, I've been thinking about it. I just have so much to do at the moment, that I'm afraid to let myself get started up again! At the moment, I spend all day reading homeschool email lists, searching for groups for us to join, reading posts on HS facebook groups, etc. I want to make sure that we are well prepared for this first official reporting year of HS in NYS.

Sucks for them, but hopefully this will wake them up to the fact that they need to consult someone before just purchasing whatever looks good to them, willy nilly. Not that this stops a lot our clients from doing stupid stuff like buying laptops at Best Buy, Staples, etc, without realizing what their requirements actually are.
