    • Web hosting + (or not) email: keep separate

One of the basic "mangolassian" rules is to always maintain discrete services.

      A few examples:
Your PBX provider should never be your SIP provider
Your domain registrar should never host host your web hoster

With web hosting, you typically get "unlimited free" email accounts. (not really free, but paid as part of your hosting contract).

I like to use Office365 for my email.

How do I "unbundle" my email service & use O365 but avoid paying the $5/mo per email account?

      Other solutions are welcome!

      Just emailed Mark at Fusion.

He said "Yes, the official FusionPBX install script works fine with Debian 9 and Freeswitch 1.8."

      Awesome. Thanks.

Spun up a vm & can confirm Fusion installed ok on Debian 9.3 (kernel 4.9.0-8) + FreeSwitch 1.8.2

      What version of chrome?

Ok cool, I'll test this when I get home tonight and see if I have the same version of chrome. What version of Windows 10?

      Win 10 Pro v1803 (OS Build 17134.407)

Honestly, this is all kinda silly.
You are "creating" a problem that simply doesn't exist!!

Cockpit terminal tab, Copy & paste in a Windows 10 vm works.
I just tried it again in v1809 (OS Build 17763.107)

I use CF for DNS & as domain registrar.
My web hosting is done somewhere else.

I'm trying to use LE certs (at my web hoster) but the dns-01 validation is failing.

      What am I doing wrong?

@mroth911 The current version 4.2.8 & up are real easy to setup.
It's a wizard based install using Cockpit.
First read through this blog post: https://www.ovirt.org/blog/2018/02/up-and-running-with-ovirt-4-2-and-gluster-storage.html

How many nodes do you have?
What are the details of your hardware?
Are you planning to do Hosted Engine + Gluster?

@Dashrender said in New PBX - on prem or off?:

You might consider your PBX to be super HA requirements - but clearly most SMBs don't because they don't install them that way..

As you know, what SMBs "consider" is irrelevant. Dogs like to eat chocolate. Doesn't make giving it to them smart.

I'm going to have to steal that dogs eating choc line, ROFL!!

That means having to re-enter those connections every time you have a new device?
If you only have a few hosts, no big deal.
If you have like 50, that's a real PITA
