That's rough though. Why would they have a junior dev with full control credentials on a production database on day one anyhow?

Only a couple people should have full read/write access to a PROD DB. A first day Junior should only have Read Only. He only needs write access to his sandbox.

The levels of organizational failure there are incredible.

It almost goes beyond failures to simply issue credentials with access and soars right into professional malpractice on the CTO's part.

@gjacobse Invent it and patent it. I'm sure there is a demand.

      For a clock?

Forgot to quote my reply for the Magnetic USB charger cord issue.

      Already a thing:

Did you see the pricing on those? That's awful spendy for a cable set.

@gjacobse Try the USB cables where the connector is magnetic so they can't break the cable.

@scottalanmiller A wild Kyle has been pretty bad off here lately and just now trying to swing things back around. I am so sick of doctors in what I can only describe as professional malpractice at the highest.

@scottalanmiller Seems like a huge failure to plan for such a large company.

What was the reasoning behind that?

Idiocy. The moment that I came home and told my wife that, she told me to quit because they were too stupid to work for.

That was probably the best advice if they couldn't figure out how to make the AD work out. I worked a job with 50 staff and 6 named Matt. I just just their middle initial in their AD & email.

Fully agree. I don't know many in the IT field that just clock out and leave. Especially in 1 man shops where uptime is your sole job no matter how many hours you put in.

@scottalanmiller Figured I'd chime in on the home lab. I've found it essential in being competitive in the IT industry. I get the whole work/home life balance but I've always wanted to learn more & more. If you think that you have learned all you need to know in this industry, it's time to find a new field of work.

    • RE: Crashing Macs

I rarely have any lockup issues with my MB unless I have recently changed added something that the OS didn't like. If you can disable the AV you will probably be golden. I don't run active AV though I do scan once a week with Clam. I have yet to find anything but BS tracking cookies that I haven't dumped yet.

Try running the built in Encryption and Firewall if you are able.

    • RE: ODrive - Combine your cloud storage drives into 1

For each service you connect it redirects to the service and asks for permission(s) to access. It appears that the credentials are stored in the app which is held by the client on the local. In my Keychain (Mac credential holder) there is a credential DB that belongs to the app.
