WebDAV is supposed to work like that but it depends on the Windows client versions that you are using as to whether or not it will work reliably mounting it as a standard mapped drive.

Otherwise we'd have a rather flat network if we ran IPv6. Compared to the 5 subnets we have.
Why not going to a single subnet with IPv4 now?

You can download a new HPM "Hamster Package Manager" and install new packages that way. It handles the dependencies automagically. Commands look like this...
hpm --install wheel_x64 -

Moving away from NAT is a core drive for IPv6. I'm doubtful that NAT devices will even be offered. IPv6 is designed specifically to not have NAT any longer.

I've used StartSSL before. It's rather a significant pain. What surprises me more is that StartSSL never decided to just be more user friendly.

RE: Backup File Server to DASposted in IT Discussion
Have you considered not using the built in Windows backup but instead using something for free? I'm not 100% sure on the features or limitations to Crashplan but I know that they are completely free and do some really cool stuff. And since they are free you could download it and test it all that you want. If it isn't better than the Windows Backup you could just switch back, no money lost.

They list local drives (external hard drive) as a backup option.

With even just one system admin, revision control is nice for just tracking what you've done.

Probably lots of different, free backup options for a small situation like this. But without virtualization you lose most of them. I know Crashplan comes up on the communities a lot and I have used it a little. As long as you are not using their Cloud Backup option, everything is free with them. You can backup to other workstation nodes too.
