I know about Superfish - installed shim in network stack you couldn't get rid of to allow advertisers, etc access into encrypted transmissions
and the BIOS thing would would reinstall the Lenovo tools under windows...

That's what Superfish does, sends data back to a Lenovo "partner" company. They can steal any data they want, and you can do nothing about it.

If you have a working bootloader password, then their script is f***** up. At least that'd be my first assumption about any script from an auditing company.

If you are depending on something, there should be two firewalls.
And in that case you just get the faulty one checked out. That's what support and service is for.

Now you are paying the price for not having the right setup in the first place.

I would go up the food chain and ask how important this connection is. If it's important, have a new one shipped out immediately.

It's a low end Cisco ASA. Why would they want to buy another one of those when then could get 8 better performing Ubiquiti Edgerouter Pros for the same price?

Because it's too much work to change when your under a time constraint. And you have no clue what kind of issues you are going to run into and how long it will take to sort it out.

And if they want HA, which it sounds like they should, Edgerouter is a no-go.
It can do VRRP but it can't sync connections or configuration so it's basically useless for anything mission-critical.

Where are you getting the need for HA from what @Jimmy9008 has said so far?

With the Edgerouters you buy 2, set the config for both and put the extra one on the shelf. If you can't afford 5 minutes of downtime, you shouldn't be using an ASA in the first place.

Edit: And with buying 2 Edgerouters, you still save tons of money on the purchase price!

@travisdh1 I've had issues like that with old versions of IE. Check out ietab in the Chrome store. You can set the level of emulation in the settings of the extension. Play around with it. Java is excruciating but eventually works.

ietab just uses the installed iexplore.exe to run things, still the same bugs as current Internet Explorer. The problem here is that I need and old version.

Chrome and Firefox are my daily drivers. It's just horrible old software that forces you to use IE.

I was having issues installing HP print drivers today (m452fdw). Through troubleshooting this, I saw in event viewer that it was failing to install some version of .net 1!

That was in addition to the Windows update system being completely broken on the thing.

Edit: I should mention that I did get this fixed. Bad enough that I thought everyone should know.

RAID 5 on SSD should be fine. It's the old-fashioned spinners that the major issues exist with.

TinkerCAD is really good for making 3d prints with, even for more complex models. If you do need to move up to something like PRO-E or Solidworks, it's gonna get really expensive. I've never gotten the hang of using Blender properly, many have had success with it, so definently check that out as well.

You're not completely paranoid, but your concern is pointed in the wrong direction. Those password pool analysers only have already leaked passwords in them so far as I know. If you get a match, you need to go change that password asap.

We're in the middle of a slight crisis at the moment. Our biggest clients are having Chrome not startup with a side-by-side configuration error. Friday is NOT supposed to start like this!

Just did this again tonight, and had 1 more step needed now.

That is if you need to login. Might not need it if using a password protected ssh key instead.

Stay away from Farm Bureau Insurance.. I'm looking for new auto and Home insurance.

I just want to stay away from the FBI in general.
