In theory it does. Linphone desktop has been pretty flaky for us so were looking at alternatives.

This isn't exactly related to OP's post...
It would be nice if there was a "clean & easy" way to "migrate" your vm's from Vultr to say a co-lo.

If you use a DevOps system, then there always is. If you use normal backups like Veeam, it's easy, too. Same with any platform, platforms don't make lock in, that comes from how it is set up. It's as easy to go from Vultr to colo as from anything else to colo.

@EddieJennings I would start by using oVirt Node (it's based on CentOS), it's the simplest, least hassled way of setting up.

Yeah, they have their own Node deployer, I'd generally just use that.

@BraswellJay said in FreePBX assign commercial module to installation?:

      @JaredBusch

I think I figured this out. The thing I needed to do was to stop and then start FreePBX.

      I did :

      fwconsole stop fwconsole start

When it started back I saw the following as part of the output :

      Updating License Information for xxxxxxxx

where the x's were my deployment ID

I'm thinking this must be where it went out and queried and saw I had purchased those two modules.

Both SysAdmin Pro and the Endpoint Manager screens now look like your samples.

      Thanks for the help.

One question. When you have purchased these through the GUI instead of the portal as I did do you normally have to restart or does it just figure that out and is immediately available?

It is all handled in a reboot.

I buy these during initial turn up time and as part of that, I will always perform a final reboot before begining the actual configuration. Because one of the turn up steps requires setting the timezone, and that is not applied fully until a reboot.

Honestly, I simply assumed that you had already turned it on and off again.

      You could have used

      fwconsole restart

or clicked the update activation in the web GUI also.

Not surprised they finally caved to this. It was needed, but I am sure it will be a huge support hit in the short term.

Does Apache have a paid version? I know that nginx reverse proxy is free, but the web server (at least used to be) a paid product.

Apache is totally free. Nginx is free for all normal purposes, it is advanced features that I've never even thought of wanting that are paid.

Ahh. Ok. I misconstrued those features as being the entire product.

@wirestyle22 said in Grub error after upgrading from Fedora 29 to 30:

It never got to the point where I could select anything to boot. I didn't have a lot of time so I just reinstalled the OS but kept the old home directory. Everything seems fine

People's minds were blown when I'd change the distribution their computer ran on, and everything looked and ran the same way afterwards. I was always sitting there thinking "This is how it's supposed to work."

Also, you may want to increase the timeout for grub. The default is short enough that you don't always see the menu when running as a VM.

It's a physical machine, desktop. Yeah I've never actually done it that way before this but logically it made sense. For some reason SMB isn't working for him and he is unable to browse his windows network shares. Connected to the domain and samba is installed.

In my experience with it, it has often corrupted randomly and to the point that it's own snapshots are no help, nor are VMware Snapshots.

How could it correct VMware snapshots?

I guess it's more that BtrFS doesn't detect the corruption early enough and our VMware snapshot are nothing but snapshots of corrupt data... That's about the only way I can explain it.

General risk with hypervisor level backups. This is a huge reason for either local file based or what I call devops backups. They are at a higher level, so there is way more opportunity for this.

But if the system was okay when you took the VMware snap, it should have been okay when you restored it. Regardless of corruption.

Yeah, exactly.... and this is why Snapshots are not a backup!

Snapshots absolutely are the backup mechanism.

And arguing about the word "critical".

      Specifically

"Critical" means everything outside "critical" is OK from the sources. So it's like "critical" is even more a niche than "any" production usage. That's why I think this wording is not fit: every production load (ie in a company) makes sense. Hobbyist is clearly not related to "production", that's why "critical" word isn't needed here

Critical in the business sense, means I need support, supporting it yourself is not an option.

@BraswellJay Just a note for next time, from the installer you can ctrl+alt+F2, this will drop you into a console where you can fix these kinds of issues without needing to boot into another thing.
