You can use CUPS Command Line
      https://www.cups.org/doc/admin.html

      lpadmin -p PrinterName -E -v socket://ip.address.of.printer -m printerdriver.ppd

Aren't printers and configs saved in a file somewhere? If so, could I copy that file to other minions, similar to remmina connection files as discussed in the other thread?

I did not see your other thread but let me check.

@scottalanmiller and @JaredBusch do you have any idea of what Zoho uses for their email systems backups? Not like your own backups (Which you can do on your own) but more their infrastructure.

I assume that they make their own. SaaS carriers can't really use commercial backup products effectively.

      I see

At a scale like that, it would be all a database storing files. So they'd have to use database dumps regardless. So let's just say it is a giant PostgreSQL database. We can assume that something like 99% of the backup capacity is for the database only. Other than that, it is likely just app servers that are being built automatically, probably Docker images. So backups of the infrastructure would be essentially non-existant, and the database backups would be everything. But normal backup tools can't take backups of the clusters.

So they'd have to use PostgreSQL's own tools to get the backups. Then they'd just have to ship them somewhere.

No expected need for traditional backups.

      Very interesting indeed.

It's somewhat brief, but a lot of this is kind of self explanatory.

No one here knows - we don't run that software.

No one here runs Server 2019 Essentials?

No - most here run standard Windows Server or some flavor or Linux. Essentials is only for SUPER tiny environments (I think it's limited to 25 connections)... a version that at least with 2012 didn't require User CALs, making it significantly cheaper for super tiny shops that required Windows, but once you hit over 25, you got a HUGE upgrade cost i.e. full server license and 25+ CALs.

Yep. It is generally not reliable either. At least earlier version weren't. Throw all MS services on one piece of underpowered hardware and then throw all your apps over it. What could go wrong?

I guess i was lucky - when they started calling it Essentials - there weren't that many services left - File/Print/AD/DNS/DHCP and what WSUS? that's all pretty typical single box stuff in my mind. WSUS could be shit for sure, but the rest can work together no issues.

Back when it was SBS server and had Exchange and possibly a corporate firewall and SQL server - OMG - yeah, kill me now!.

That's just the out of the box stuff that can be simple solved off windows very easily 😉

Dont forget that these businesses like to throw quickbooks and other poorly made sofware on their Essentials server including these other services which are already too much to have on one box IMO. It's 2019, virtualize 🙂

It would be interesting to know if Essentials allows for the install of 3rd party software like that?
      Probably does..

QuickBooks is the reason I have so many Essentials servers out there. If the environment is large enough where you can't just make one computer "the server" and share QuickBooks from there, Server Essentials goes in along with QuickBooks Database manager and its 25 year old architecture and you call it a day.

      Same kind of problem here.

      VLANs?

No, and this VM is on the same vlan as other VMs on the same host.

PS I've restored this VM to a completely different hypervisor and the issue persists. So either its the VM or the gateway.

Have you tried a different IP, or even power down this machine and assign the same IP to another host to see if it gets blocked? Is the restored VM using the same MAC address as the original or has the restored version got a reinitialised MAC?

Do you have access to check the logs on the gateway / edge / router to see if it's blocking / intercepting / messing with your host

I am going to assume that the SQL server would use webdav to get the files from NC to process them if they replaced the method now with NC or have the sync client on the server to pull the files into a local folder.

      Reasonably, yes.

I'd pay $2/user for Mail Lite with 30GB+ storage but not Zoho Docs.

I might do so as well.

I am not sure if they are a direct comparison to BetterCloud.
but I will say that they are at least responsive.
BetterCloud seems to not want any business as they dont pick up the phone and no responses since Tuesday to emails.

OK. I found I could run

      yum install java-1.8.0-openjdk

to install version 8. After that, I was able to install logstash successfully.

Is there a reason that you want an old version?

Also wtf are you using yum for?

It's wazuh's documentation. They have specific repos for other things too. Not sure why they are still using yum instead of dnf.

Pull your head out of your ass and don't blindly type what any guide says. Even one of mine.

If you are using Fedora, you use dnf period. Yes, currently Fedora still has a reroute/alias for it to dnf, but you should not assume it will be there.

#chilloutbro You can leave off the first part of that sentence and still provide a constructive answer.

You need to think, and you, clearly, are not. So yeah, perfectly fitting.

So if I didn't know, it has nothing to do with not thinking. I just didn't know. Now I do.

Copy it and change the name, then reload Remmina. You'll now see a copy of the same thing. Go back and delete the original in the file system and reload Remmina again. Original disappears.

Tells me that one should be able to simply dump the connection configs on the minions, tighten down the permission to read only for the user and let them operate.
