the OpenWRT project has been around for a long time, I even used it for a bit on an older router of mine.

I was very upset with the poor / old documentation around there and quickly dropped it. Maybe this will help to fix those issues. Hopefully the project won't up and vanish.

With renewed vigor they might pull this back around.

      I hope for the best.

The second picture reminds me of Apple OS X by a lot.

Yeah, the floating middle menu bar has been copied a lot. I'm not sure if the overall design started with OSX or KDE. KDE definitely had it a really long time ago. The super sized icons, though, is definitely all OSX.

Did you check the repos before calling me an ass or taking the word of some random person on a forum? I don't think so. You are so insistent that this is my fault and wanting to call me names that you are blindly willing to assume anything. Bottom line.... one official spokesperson for the company responded that the issue should not exist after asked directly if it was fixed. A random person on another forum made a comment about something that doesn't exist and you took their word for it as a reason to badger me.

Here are the full contents of the repo for those interested.

So where is the PHP7 package that you are berating me about? Please provide me the link as I cannot find it.

I used ChaletOS and it was very intuitive, very much an XP like feel or Windows 7 which was the goal.

Very good OS for basic computer users.

Hmmm, if he cares so much about security he should disable the Universe repository, it's full of security holes. Essentially, installing anything from there is an exercise in installing a backdoor.

Of course, there's not much choice, you want that software to be available. Though choice 😉

Hmm, this might be an interesting alternative to cssh since it doesn't mirror keyboard input, but merely runs the same command. I'll have to see if we can adapt this for running our auditing scripts.

Yeah, a little bit more robust there 🙂

      @Dashrender said in KVM Backups:

You're right.. I have to keep reminding myself of that. But SMB's don't want to be chasing down dozens of little pieces all over the place to make these pieces work.

It's one thing or a larger company to have a team who's job it is to do just that - Scott's been talking about using Xen for decade plus. I have to assume that Scott the one man who is equal to nearly 10 normal mortals, has managed to collect and put together all of those parts.

The simplicity of XS and XO are what really give Xen any teeth in the SMB market, a la Windows style, everything in one place.

The bad thing about these groupings though, as we found out with the use of VHDs in XS, are the limitations those packages place upon us.

This is exactly correct. They want some hardware on-site (if they can't move to public cloud for some good reason) and they want somebody who owns the hardware also babysit it. Playing LEGO game with hardware and software isn't what most of the people can do EASILY (and one of the proves I'm right is why products like vRanger and AppAss still exist).
