      Q

This has really been a long time coming. X11 is very old and a lot of people have been trying to figure out how to get this replaced. Probably makes sense that Google really just took the lead on this.

I don't know what all the fuss is about. They are just copying Windows.
Surely more reboots is a good thing. Windows needs to reboot and is popular.

Can't you all see? More reboots equals more popularity.

It's the second one in the Shield series, so it has a little traction already.

It looks a little bit like that. Anyway, we don't have anything like your fines and settlement deals here.

VMware seems pretty unconcerned about having used Linux code and violating the GPL in Germany, though.

      Too big to care.

I've been thinking about getting some Linux experience and developing some expertise. I do have very light experience with it. I've been in the Windows sysadmin field for about 20 years and I'm considered to be a senior engineer I would say. I'm paid pretty well and I'm sure some will say just keep getting better at the Windows world, but I'm tempted by the potential that having Linux expertise might bring to my career. Thoughts anyone?

Linux earns, generally, far more than Windows and my estimate is that the gap will only widen unless you move into DevOps style Windows management and move to pure PowerShell or other code-based tools. Linux is a growing market, growing pay rates and the demand versus available resources just keeps getting bigger.

LOL. They have a place, like in shared services where that is the only thing exposed. It can make sense. But for running stuff on your own, I find that they get in the way and make things hard and slow. And it is an extra thing to patch and secure. Running a LAMP server is so easy without a panel. Easier than a service with a panel, I swear.

Unrelated question but how do you indent all your code lines four spaces manually or how do you do it automatically?

If it is one line, like that one there, I just hit the space bar four times. When it is a large code block, I copy into Notepad++, Ctrl-A, Tab, and copy into here.
      ...
      I figured you must
