Well.. I was leaning that way, just not as direct as you were about it.

When our company files taxes they have to pay it either way..

So to answer my own thread. I use REVO Pro with Advance search/removal and that fixed the problem. Not sure why standard REVO cannot do the job. After the Advance search and delete, reinstall with installer (not GPO) and it install successfully.

I had a Windows 7 SP1 lock up on me a few weeks ago. I did everything in this thread 1-2 times and it eventually started working. I let it sit 24 hours before I started and It wouldn't move until I installed the hot fixes.

Yeah, we used to get it loads, happened on a domain with loads of VLAN's - seemed to be that the GPO would say to map before the connection was fully established, especially for users on higher VLAN's...Users realised if they clicked them 99% of the time they would connect though so no major dramas...

Like the others, I'd recommend using VLANs only if you need them to secure something. For instance, in a college where I worked previously, I helped migrate from the stacks of switches that @scottalanmiller mentions to a network using VLANs to separate student traffic from the admin traffic.

You will definitely need a router (or layer 3 switch) or firewall to ensure that the VLANs have access to the internet, but not to one another.

So in the end I use Robocopy just to get the file transfer over. Still, we cannot rename or add any other files to the same folder.

Gen1 allows legacy hardware such as a NIC for PXE boot. I believe Gen1 is Bios Emulation and Gen2 is UEFI

Pretty normal your phone system likely processing sip traffic and causes the slight delay for pings. It may even be setup to proiritize traffic so pings can handle less preferentially than its SIP traffic.

One hopes, in fact, that a phone will deprioritize anything but the RTP voice traffic.

Failover clustering is no issue as you have licensed VMs already. Free Hyper-V works just fine, it's that it doesn't replace Windows licensing. It's just unrelated. You could say that a puppy doesn't work here either, but having a puppy doesn't cause a problem either, it's just not related to the issue at hand - that of licensing the Windows VMs on top of the hypervisor, whatever that hypervisor is.

KBs are generally only good for specific knowledge. The stuff you are talking about is general knowledge. Generally KBs are useless for this kind of stuff.
