Wow, seems early for a Christmas tree. When is it common to have them there? In the US we don't normally see them until December (except in stores, of course.)

I think that it is primarily a fallback mechanism. It protects a little against overlapping IPs, provides a central registry, some degree of double checks.

That seems ridiculous. How did they make it NOT work? Wouldn't it just work by default unless they put in some effort to keep it from working?

Definitely +1 to using it as back up and replication storage. It often is either an upgrade to your existing backup infrastructure,
Backup is where I almost always hear people are going to use their storage. Makes the most sense. Nobody has a good backup system until something like this happens. Worth getting new gear just to cause the old stuff to be made available for backup usage!

@scottalanmiller I've heard that A+ is a waste of my time from other people, namely my own boss. Unfortunately, it's a requirement for my job. I've been reading over the study guide for it, and I feel there are some bits of relevant data in there. Mostly just things I wanted to know, but didn't already.
So your boss told you to not get it? Seems like you probably shouldn't waste the time and effort on it then. Where are you getting these requirements from?
I think he said that it was a waste, but not that he shouldn't get it.

RE: What's Even Cooler Than Cloud Computing? Space Computingposted in IT Discussion
THIS IS AWESOME!
Will there be a handy interface like on AWS so that we can spin up VMs as needed? Even if expensive this will be the most popular thing ever.
Imagine web hosting from space! Now we know where MegaUpload is headed next!
