We've been using it for remote patching. Looking at the paid options for PDQ and the licensed versions of Chocolatey as potential replacements.
Used PDQ for a long time and loved it. Switched ticketing from Spiceworks to ManageEngine's ServiceDesk and got a deal on Desktop Central so now we do all our patching through Desktop Central.

@scottalanmiller where are you moving to?
A small village outside of Leon, Nicaragua.
Nothing like bringing a distinct meaning to the words 'Remote Work'.
I have two professors that use Biblical Hebrew and Japanese keyboards. Since a Windows upgrade the change isn't working. I have the SBL fonts installed for the Biblical Hebrew but neither the Japanese nor Hebrew keyboards engage nor type in either language. Any thoughts?
After getting interrupted for the 3rd time when trying to ask questions, I wouldn't have cared at that point what the benefits were, I would've been DUDE! You're SO BEING A DICK RIGHT NOW!
Hello all,
I received notification that one of my certs was coming up for renewal and just to make sure I ran this:
root@SemMoodle:~# sudo certbot renew
sudo: unable to resolve host SemMoodle
Saving debug log to /var/log/letsencrypt/letsencrypt.log
Cert is due for renewal, auto-renewing...
Starting new HTTPS connection (1): acme-v01.api.letsencrypt.org
Renewing an existing certificate
Performing the following challenges:
tls-sni-01 challenge for www.wls-online.net

Cleaning up challenges
Attempting to renew cert from /etc/letsencrypt/renewal/www.wls-online.net.conf produced an unexpected error: Failed authorization procedure. www.wls-online.net (tls-sni-01): urn:acme:error:connection :: The server could not connect to the client to verify the domain :: DNS problem: SERVFAIL looking up CAA for wls-online.net. Skipping.
All renewal attempts failed. The following certs could not be renewed:
/etc/letsencrypt/live/www.wls-online.net/fullchain.pem (failure)
1 renew failure(s), 0 parse failure(s)
IMPORTANT NOTES:
The following errors were reported by the server:
Domain: www.wls-online.net
Type: connection
Detail: DNS problem: SERVFAIL looking up CAA for wls-online.net
To fix these errors, please make sure that your domain name was
entered correctly and the DNS A record(s) for that domain
contain(s) the right IP address. Additionally, please check that
your computer has a publicly routable IP address and that no
firewalls are preventing the server from communicating with the
client. If you're using the webroot plugin, you should also verify
that you are serving files from the webroot path you provided.
When I look at my DNS host I see that both wls-online.net and www.wls-online.net are pointed to the same IP and have DNS records. What am I missing as to why it is failing?
TIA,
Jeff
A few days ago I posted a question about creating a ticket with some checkboxes and such to show the work I've done with a user's machine for maintenance purposes. After messing with the SW portal, which could work, it still seemed to me that it wasn't customizable enough. Which brought me to the question of what does everyone else use? Is what you use more customizable than SW is?

I almost forgot, apache config probably got reset to default. Find your AllowOverride directive in your web root config and make sure it's set to either FileInfo or All. Options directive should also include FollowSymlinks. Restart Apache after making changes in config files.
BOOM!!!!! FIXED!!!
@marcinozga Thanks for the help. Now I can move onto something else, like a nap

@scottalanmiller Option to migrate from SW?
This actually has been something that I've been thinking about. It has been expressed by a few members. I am working currently on slicking up a few things and this might be part of it.
It might be a rather high priority. Would be awfully handy and several people have mentioned it including @Minion-Queen
As I am becoming less and less impressed with SW. I was almost considering an MSP type software to move to.
@stuartjordan I call it Super DOS. And I F'n HATE IT!

In /var/www/web/logs I have an access log that is 7.5GB. Can I purge that?
Your logs should be cycling. Is this a log for a single day?
It was not for a single day. It was from day 1 of the server life (25-Sept-2015)
Checking a bunch of my laptops I have found that they are all sitting at the .192 update when I check winver. If I tell them to check for updates they all have come back and said no updates are available. However, when I look at Microsoft's website I see that 1709.214 is available.
Thoughts or a general kick in the right direction?

Great! BTW, I read a while ago that WSUS was going away? Yet today in my searches for this issue I see that it is indeed still alive and well on 2012 servers? Did I dream that WSUS was going away?
Greetings all,
I thought I remember there being a post on this and I may have been the one to ask the question. Either that or there is a glitch in the matrix. Either way, Yes or No for AntiVirus on Servers?
Hardware, software, etc. Servers, Desktops, Monitors, Laptops. You know all that stuff?
We have an account through CDWG (We're a school) and for the most part they are quick to get us stuff. I have been waiting on some RMAs and some Server licensing for about 2 weeks now and this isn't the first time I have been forgotten because of us being small potatoes.
All is good. Cyberduck had an update that broke some stuff and I needed to apply a new update.
@scottalanmiller said in DHCP ranges seperate for IP Phones and PCs?:
What are you using the
scan to provide?
PC info and Network info. Ticketing as well. I know SodiumSuite does all that as well.
Trying to get an update on a single machine KB4088776 has been problematic for too long. I went the route of manually downloading and it still fails. I shutdown the WU service, renamed the softwaredistribution file, purged Windows update and still nothing gets this update installed. Machine currently sits at 16299.192 which up until today was actually at 16299.125. So I made progress but now can't get .309's update to go.
Any thoughts? BTW, HP Probook 650 G1. BIOS is up to date and all other drivers are as well.
